The Hollow

1 min read

autumn leaves rest at the root of a tree night falls and the wind arrives, but it forgets what it came to scatter the leaves fold inwards, as though silence were a thing worth protecting

the rocks cool as the sun departs half buried where the earth dips between the roots a lone rock remains it keeps a little of the sun after it's left

beside it, the earth is soft and undisturbed the leaves settle just beyond it
